Manor Green
Manor Green is by far the most well-known of all Denby's ranges, although few people know that it first emerged in the late thirties. The company later exploited the hardiness of its stoneware as oven to tableware which had increasing appeal to the servantless post war household.
Most of the Manor Green seen today is from post-war production with the familiar round shapes and cream contrasting inners. Early pieces do turn up from time to time but they are rare.
Of all their early designs, this is the most comprehensive in its range: Teapots and coffee pots come in about four or five different sizes, as do casserole and pie dishes. The range attempted to find its uses for entertaining by introducing hors d'oeurvres and other dishes for the busy hostess !
