Cottage Blue
Cottage Blue was another early Denby design with the earliest pieces from 1926 having the Bourne triangle backstamp. Bourne shapes included tankard-shaped milk jugs and coffee pots and bulbous hot chocolate jugs. Our favourites are the tiny ramekin dishes !
When production resumed after the war in 1953, new designers updated the shapes and rounded jugs, soup bowls and cups and saucers were introduced.
When Coloroll took over the company for a brief period in the eighties, they renamed the range Blue Classic. A few of our serving dishes are from that later era.
Its subtle primrose interior contrasts beautifully with the rich deep blue and like Bourne Brown belongs in a traditional kitchen.
