Originally introduced in the forties, Pyrex's Colourware replicated the sprayware glass that was so popular in the States.
By far the most popular was the pastel green, partly as it formed part of the colour palette to be found in most kitchens during the inter-war and post war periods. The range was supplemented by other colours - including the rarely seen Champagne. More evocative of the fifties was the sky blue and the primrose yellow.
The tableware was solid and durable, and produced in the classic shapes that were also seen in the timeless transparent glassware. Dishes were multifunctional - in the oven or on the table !
