Vegetable & garlic pressers
Traditional vegetable pressers have always been wooden. Circular in shape, the main variation was in the type and colour of wood and the diameter of the presser. The circular shape was designed to reach the sides of a saucepan containing the cooked vegetables to be pressed to remove all access water.
Older ones tend to be darker with the patina of years of use. In the sixties, the Scandanavian influence meant they were made from simple unfinished wood. A few pressers were ridged - some manufacturers believed they were more effecient.
For those who don't want to chop their garlic, we have cast aluminium pressers to save those fingers !
