Melaware and Melmex Pastels gave way to more vivid - even psychedelic - colours in the mid sixties. Bright yellow and an electric turquoise was later joined by orange and a moss green.
Melaware also produced a range in rich solid red, yellow, dark grey and teal green.
Shapes started to evolve and the rounded cups gave way to more streamlined ones: Some tapered, some straight. Not every bowl had a white inner, either !
And by the early seventies melamine was firmly for the picnic basket and camping, and Melmex was producing their solid colour Encore range with straight-sided cups and lipped plates.
