Saffron View full size

Hornsea Saffron was another popular range from Hornsea designed by John Clappison. Introduced three years after Heirloom, in 1970, it had the perfect colourway for the decade of orange and dusky brown. Look carefully at the design and you will see it is made up of a myriad of tiny daisies.

Saffron provided a solid range of storage jars in three sizes to accomodate most ingredients. The largest are terrific for flour and biscuits - even without the lettering. The small sizes were mainly lettered with tea, coffee and sugar, although plain ones are equally handy for other ingredients such as pasta, rice and lentils. Saffron also came in range of tableware which you can find here.
