Polish enamel utensils
With cream and white being the usual colours for British enamel, the arrival of the vibrant colours from Poland in the sixties was hard to resist.
Unlike many British kitchen accessory manufacturers who started with canisters and diversified into other products, Polish enamel started with coffee pots, teapots pans and utensils but didn't produced canisters, flour and bread bins until later.
So on-trend was Polish enamel that Habitat stocked the ladles, skimmers, drainers, coffee pots and steamers in red and blue colourways. Colanders appear to have been a later addition.
By the seventies, orange, brown and green had been added to the colour range.
