Dough cutters
To get even sized loaves or rolls and every inch of dough from around the sides of the bowl, you can use one of our heritage brand dough scrapers and cutters or an antique steel one.
The straight side would be used to cut the dough into even sizes, whilst the curved edge would be used to scrap it from the proving bowl.
While steel ones with wooden handles would be the norm in the Victorian kitchen, eventually flour, sugar and yeast manufacturers saw them as a marketing tool. They produced branded dough cutters to give away to bakers as a constant reminder of their wares.
